Optometrist & Contact Lens Specialist
About Harrison Eye Care
Harrison Eye Care is an independent opticians in North Leeds which took over McNicholas Opticians in 2015 after retirement of the previous owners. We pride ourselves on our friendly one-to-one customer service and our small trustworthy team will always try to make you feel welcome and valued as patients. We believe eyesight is the most important sense we have, and at Harrison Eye Care we are passionate about caring for the health of your eyes and giving you the best vision possible.
Catherine Harrison is an optometrist who graduated professionally in 1999. Since then she has worked for a number of large high street opticians as well as smaller independent practices. This has enabled her to develop a wide range of clinical skills including diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, accurate prescriptions, contact lens fitting and dispensing skills. Catherine has been working at the practice as resident optometrist since 2009 and her special interests include myopia management and urgent eye care within the community.
Claire is our dispensing optician and she joined the practice in 2022. She brings a wealth of experience about choosing the right glasses to suit your prescription, as well as making sure your glasses are fitting properly and adjusted to your needs. She is great with kids and excellent at teaching people how to get contact lenses in and out of your eyes safely.
Sarah Ford is our longest serving staff member. She knows many of our patients well, and is highly skilled at arranging the clinics and ensuring the practice runs smoothly. Sarah is now semi retired but still pops in to help out on busy days.
Liz Craven joined the practice in 2016 having previously worked at a local nursery, and before that as a primary school teacher. She is very friendly and will endeavour to help with any of your queries. Liz and Sarah share the responsibilities of running the reception.
Harrison Eye Care proudly supports St Gemma's Hospice.
As a continued effort to support our local community Harrison Eye Care donates £1 to St Gemma's Hospice for every spectacle frame sold in the practice (excluding NHS frames). Our premium lens supplier Essilor also contribute for each pair of premium lenses sold. The hospice provides much needed help and support to patients and family of those affected by degenerative conditions and those requiring palliative care. We also support other charities within the practice including Guide Dogs for the Blind.
